I am proud that the European Championships is held in the region of Dalarna. During my active career was Dalarna my home.
This explains former world champion (1981, 1983, 1985) Annichen Kringstad, who now works for the Swedish Orienteering Federation with communication issues.
Annichen competed for the club Stora Tuna, Dalarna, during her successful career. She won the three championships in a row, and is still one of Sweden’s most famous orienteers. Only 25 years old she finished her career in order to pursue a civilian career.
