Many runners take the opportunity to train for EOC2012. In early October, was Dalarna attended by world champions Annika Billstam, Sweden, and Thierry Gueorgiou, France.
Thierry announced he will compete in two more years. The next major championship will be the European Championships in Dalarna in May 2012.
– The championship in Dalarna gets tough, there are many good orienteers, especially Swedes. But we in the French team aiming for gold, says Gueorgiou.
World number one has already three European Championship gold in the middle distance. However, he misses gold in the long distance, sprint and relay.
Annika Billstam look forward to competing at home in Sweden.
– It will be great races with a large and knowledgeable audience. The organizers put a lot of the public competitions (4-days) and the Arena and Television production. It will be a nice championship.
