The organizers of EOC 2012 in Dalarna, Sweden – OK Kåre and IFK Mora – have both experience of competitions at international level.
OK Kåre
The club was formed in 1948 and is one of Sweden’s oldest dedicated orienteering clubs. OK Kåre have 400 active members who have organised OL-Touren Dalarna since the 50´s. OK Kåre was one of the main organising clubs for O-Ringen 2008. Other events held are O-Ringen 1985 with the event centre located at Arena Lugnet (25 000 participants), The Swedish Elitserien 2000 and a World Ranking Event 2004.
IFK Mora
The club was formed 1909 and is one of Sweden’s oldest sports club. IFK Mora’s orienteering section has 450 active members who organise national standard races every year. IFK Mora were one of the main organising clubs for O-Ringen (including World Cup status) 2008. Every winter the club organises the world’s biggest ski race, Vasaloppet, with nearly 50 000 participants.
